Cortnie + Amaris | Puerto Rico Destination Elopement

Before I dive into this, if you haven’t seen my blog post about Amaris and Cortnie’s engagement session, go check it out so you can read a little bit about how these two New York babes came into my life. It wasn’t long after their engagement session that covid hit the US and borders began closing, and while I of course was worried about all my clients, their weddings, and the upcoming summer months, I was especially nervous that this day would not happen. Cortnie and Amaris had originally planned for their island dream wedding to have almost 60 guests, most of whom would be flying into Puerto Rico from the states. After coming to terms with the fact that covid wasn’t going anywhere by July, they sliced the guest list almost entirely, leaving just eight people including myself and my sweet plus one. Thankfully everyone who was in attendance was able to travel safely to Puerto Rico and we all made damn sure that Cort and Amaris felt as loved and celebrated as possible.

I wish I could express how meaningful it was for me to be a part of this big day. There are really no words. Amaris + Cortnie are two of the most thoughtful, hilarious, kind people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing and I’m sitting here typing this with tears in my eyes because I am so grateful our paths crossed. It really was one of the most phenomenal moments in what was otherwise an extremely challenging year. C + A, thank you both for trusting me (and my sidekick/second shooter Keegan) to document the most beautiful tropical destination elopement and thank you for continuing to hype me up from all the way across the country. You two are truly amazing.
