If you’re a photographer, you’ve probably noticed that film is trending right now. But learning to shoot film (or getting back into it) in the digital age can be overwhelming. There is so much information out there - where do you even begin? I’m here to tell ya.
The Film Course is a comprehensive guide for photographers of all levels to learn how the heck to start shooting film (and how to add it to your photography business). From one wedding professional who has successfully added film to my client packages for years, straight to your inbox. All of my information, just for you, no holds barred.
I personally feel that film is the most nostalgic, artistic and enjoyable way to make photos. I want to share that passion with you. This guide is meant to be accessible for all photographers, beginners or pros. I cover all types of film and cameras, discuss shooting tips, my favorite photo labs, and how I deliver the end results to my clients. It’s all included. Everything I know about analog photography, available to you. No holds barred.
FAQ
What's included?
The Film Course is full of info — it includes a 25 page PDF that covers everything from film stock and film cameras to scanning and processing. I’ll share everything I know with you about the cameras I work with, how I process/scan polaroids and negatives, and I’ll talk about how I use film in both my everyday art practice and in my business. To top it all off, you’ll also have access to a facebook group where you can chat with peers, ask me questions, and share the work you make!
I'm not a professional photographer, can i still use this course?
Absolutely! I do recommend having at least a basic knowledge of manual camera settings, but this course is great for anyone! Hobbyists, beginners or even professionals, the film course is for all. My goal is to bring film photography to anyone interested in learning and to make it as accessible as possible.
I don't have a film camera yet, should i still buy this course?
Definitely. I cover my favorite film cameras for beginners, where to buy them, and how to get started in this course so that you can confidently shop for your first film camera whenever you’re ready! Plus within our discussion forum, we can all chat about which film cameras we love most.
I'm a wedding photographer, does this course talk about adding film to my business?
Hell yes it does. I’ve been a wedding photographer since 2018 and I graduated with my degree in film photography (plus I’ve been a film enthusiast since I can remember) so with the resurgence of film, I’ve successfully found a way to incorporate analog into my business. I will share all of that will you in the film course. I feel especially passionate about this section of the course because while film is definitely trending right now, not all film photography is equal. I want to help wedding photographers feel confident shooting film at weddings to deliver their best work.
What’s the deal with 35mm Film?
I’ve been shooting film since I picked up a camera, and it’s what I studied in college, so I wanted to find a way to bring that funky filmy nostalgia to my clients. If you opt to have film coverage at your wedding, I’m still shooting digital photos too, so there’s no need to worry about me missing a shot. I offer coverage with 35mm film, polaroids, or both. If you’re curious about what that looks like or reading more about it, you can read more here!
