 FAQ

QUESTION:

how does this process work? (the short version)

ANSWER:

Once I receive your initial inquiry, we’ll pick a time to chat on the phone and get to know each other! We’ll talk about all kinds of things both wedding and life. Then after we’re properly acquainted, I’ll send over an email with my two photo collection offerings. Simple and straight to the point. If you think we’re a great fit, then you pick the collection (and add-ons that speak to you). Once you make your selection, I just need a signature + a retainer to hold your date. Then we can move on to the fun stuff like planning your engagement session or talking more about your dog.

QUESTION:

after the wedding, how soon do we get the photos?

ANSWER:

After we hug and go our separate ways, I’ll send some sneak peeks within 24-72 hours so you can keep riding that wedding-day-high. You’ll receive your full online gallery 4-6 weeks after the big day. I always do my best to deliver it to you on your one-month anniversary, but sometimes life gets in the way, ya know? Other sessions are similar - I’ll send you a few sneak peeks right after and the full gallery around 3-5 weeks later.

QUESTION:

can you make us not look awkward?

ANSWER:

You bet. Believe it or not, literally everyone feels awkward being photographed at first. I’ve had lots of practice prompting couples so that they feel natural and relaxed, and chances are I’ll do something really goofy or weird in the first few minutes of us meeting so you can laugh the stress off. My shooting style is truly documentary and natural so that you don’t feel stiff or posed in front of the camera. Ultimately the goal is to be so comfy with each other that by the time it’s your wedding day, you won’t even think twice about me hangin’ around with a camera.

question:

do you travel? If so, what does it cost me?

Answer:

Hell yes I do. Traveling is one of my favorite things, and it’s what inspires a lot of my work. Costs for travel are included in package pricing, but we can chat more about the logistics of that on our call. You can also check my travel schedule (which is posted here) to see if any of the locations are on your list as well.

Question:

What’s the deal with 35mm Film?

Answer:

I’ve been shooting film since I picked up a camera, and it’s what I studied in college, so I wanted to find a way to bring that funky filmy nostalgia to my clients. If you opt to have film coverage at your wedding, I’m still shooting digital photos too, so there’s no need to worry about me missing a shot. I offer coverage with 35mm film, polaroids, or both. If you’re curious about what that looks like or reading more about it, you can read more here!
