Lucy + Evan | Eugene Forest Elopement

Even if Eloping isn’t your original wedding plan, it can still be perfect.

Lucy + Evan’s wedding story is relatively similar to a lot of weddings that happened (or will happen) this year - they had to cancel the big event because of COVID 19. Originally they had planned a beautiful ceremony and reception at a public park here in Oregon, but when the pandemic totally derailed those plans, we set out in a new direction. Instead of rescheduling, they recruited a couple friends and we hoofed it up a hill for a beautiful little elopement ceremony.

We started our day at a lush green picnic spot, had lunch together, and got ready amongst the trees. Then we met with the other half of our crew and hiked up to a breathtaking viewpoint… only to find rain and clouds. But that didn’t stop a thing. Evan and Lucy had a great attitude and were fully prepared to get married, rain or shine (or pandemic)! After the ceremony we shared some snacks and champagne, and then headed back down the hill. It was definitely one for the books.

So if you’re like Evan and Lucy, and are considering re-planning because of COVID, just know that your wedding can be whatever you want it to be! A hike up a hill, a backyard shindig with your few closest friends, or even a little courthouse elopement. Even if you decide to save the party for later, love doesn’t have to wait.
